The successful candidate must be a dual-trade craftsman capable of executing both structural masonry and carpentry tasks safely, accurately, and with minimal supervision. Key Duties & ResponsibilitiesMasonry Works:Mix mortar, cement, and grout to required project ratios and specifications.Lay concrete blocks, bricks, and stone for foundations, retaining walls, partitions, and structural facades.Set up formwork, pour, level, screed, and float concrete slabs, columns, beams, and walkways.Apply plaster, stucco, and finish render to interior and exterior wall surfaces.Perform structural concrete repairs, patching, and crack injection on existing buildings.Carpentry Works:Build, erect, align, and strip timber formwork and falsework for reinforced concrete pours.Construct timber wall framing, roof trusses, floor joists, and ceiling rafters according to building specifications.Install exterior sheathing, subflooring, drywall backing, and structural timber bracing.Hang doors, fit window frames, and install baseboards, moldings, and architectural trim.Repair and replace damaged wooden framework, decking, and roof boards.General Site Operations:Read and interpret site sketches, layout markings, and construction measurements accurately.Safely operate and maintain all hand and power tools (e.g., table saws, circular saws, masonry cutters, hammer drills, pneumatic nailers, and concrete mixers).Adhere strictly to Cayman Islands building codes and on-site health and safety regulations.Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work zones.Qualifications & RequirementsMinimum of 5 to 10+ years of proven, hands-on experience in construction masonry and structural carpentry (up to 15+ years preferred). Demonstrated dual proficiency in both block/concrete masonry and timber framing/carpentry.
