The Mason is responsible for constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures using concrete blocks, bricks, natural stone, and other masonry materials. The successful candidate should have good knowledge of masonry materials, techniques, tools, and equipment and must be able to work with minimal supervision while adhering to all health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Construct and repair walls, walkways, fences, and other structures using concrete blocks, bricks, stone, and other masonry materials.
Measure, cut, shape, and prepare masonry materials as required.
Mix and apply mortar, cement, and other bonding materials.
Read and follow measurements, layouts, and construction specifications.
Use masonry tools, equipment, and machinery safely and effectively.
Cut openings into walls, floors, and other structures constructed of masonry materials.
Repair, demolish, and rebuild existing masonry structures when required.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Identify and report safety hazards or other serious concerns to the Foreman/Supervisor.
Follow all company health and safety procedures.
Assist with other general construction duties as required.
