Caribbean Services and Development Inc. Ltd. (CSDI Ltd.), is seeking an Assistant Structural Coordinator, to specialize in Residential & Commercial structures.
This role reports directly to the Structural Coordinator. The incumbent will be responsible for designing floor and roof trusses based on clients’ drawings, to ensure seamless delivery between clients, Building Control, Planning Department and manufacturing functions of the Truss Plant.
The incumbent will play an integral role in ensuring that the design and structural calculations meet the necessary requirements for fabrication of eminent structures for a wide range of projects.
Responsibilities:
• Design trusses according to the client’s instruction in coordination with the manufacturing functions of the business.
• Incorporate loads and pressures caused by human or environmental influences, liaising effectively with industry partners to ensure loading aspects are widely understood.
• Provide cost quotations based on clients’ drawings and directives using Eagle software.
• Demonstrate superior customer service by communicating with clients, resolving technical questions professionally and promptly.
• Create and maintain project schedules and design budgets.
• Manage the fabrication schedules to ensure trusses, underlay, Standing Seam roofing and cold formed steel orders are fabricated according to client requirements.
• Present the updated schedules to the Board at weekly Sales meetings ensuring the coordination of all activities and facets of the companies (Trusses, Underlay, Standing Seam, Cold Formed Steel divisions).
• Field visits to client sites as necessary to ensure production and accuracy are maintained.
• Ad hoc role to include all stages of design and Planning approval of all designed structures.
• Learning and understanding of FrameCAD and RAM steel engineering design programs.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Five years’ experience in the truss design industry
• Data-driven mindset with excellent mathematical and analytic skills
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and structural design software.
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with proven ability to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks.
• Candidates must be proactive and able to work on their initiative.
• The incumbent must exhibit a strong leadership skillset and develop effective relationships with stakeholders, regulators, and business partners.
• The ability to manage time effectively, identify efficient solutions to problems, and have an open thought process to challenge established and entrenched views would be advantageous.
Note: Position is shared between two employers: 25 hours per week with CSDI Ltd. as the primary role and 20 hours per week with Truss Plant Structures Ltd. as the secondary role.
