STORE CLERK - FROZEN/DAIRY.

Essential Key Responsibilities and Objectives:

• Assist in unloading the merchandise;
• Transport stock for storage to stock areas;
• Open cartons and price items (if required) accurately;
• Keep perishable merchandise rotated and pull out of code product as needed;
• Move cardboard boxes to dumpster often;
• Keep store shelves fully stocked and clean according to tag allocations;
• Assist in building store displays;
• Control level of damaged goods;
• Properly present assigned section prior to leaving at the end of scheduled shift;
• Adhere to the 20 minute chill chain factor in that all frozen/dairy items are stored in their respective areas within 20 minutes;
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area fully instigating the ‘clean as you go’ policy;
• Observe all safety laws concerning lifting and moving products;
• Know product and product location;
• Greet all customers and be observant;
• Maintain good customer relations with prompt and courteous service;
• Keep knowledge updated regarding daily specials and general sale items;
• Be aware of any in store promotions or special events such as raffle prizes etc;
• Assist with store inventory planning and preparation;
• Observe policies and procedures established for the Frozen/Dairy Department;
• Abide by all Company policies as stated in the Employee Handbook.
• This position requires individuals to work in very cold temperatures as low at -15 degree in intervals of up to half hour at a time;
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs 40% of your working time;
• Must be a healthy, physically fit, and adaptable individual.

Supplemental Job Functions

• Ensure that you are fully aware of your schedule and report any required changes in advance of final schedule distribution;
• Maintenance of price and security protection program;
• Housekeeping of sales and back room areas;
• Monitor inventory of supplies and notify Supervisor/Store Manager when orders are required;
• Assist with Front-End service when required.
