Painter / Wallpaper installer.

Installation of high end wallpapers and wall covering. Must have more than 10years of experience performiing this skilled trade. Will include wall preparation to the standard required to receive the wallcovering. Will include painting. Will be required to work weekends and bank holidays when needed.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

PAINTER
• Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, or removing old paint
• Mixing, matching, and applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces
• Providing decorative and faux finishes as the project requires
• Handling planning and prep work in an efficient manner
• Preparing the surrounding area by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes
• Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project
• Calculating the amount of materials and time required for said project
• Removing fixtures such as door knobs and light switch covers
• Taping off areas as needed
• Choosing and purchasing paint, brushes, and other supplies from vendors
• Quoting and negotiating job prices
• Cleaning up supplies and replacing fixtures when project is complete.

WALLPAPER INSTALLER
• Preparing walls and installing highend wallcoverings.
• Smooth strips or sections of paper with brushes or rollers to remove wrinkles and bubbles and to smooth joints.
• Check finished wallcoverings for proper alignment, pattern matching, and neatness of seams.
• Set up equipment, such as pasteboards and scaffolds.
• Apply sizing to seal surfaces and maximize adhesion of coverings to surfaces.
• Measure surfaces or review work orders to estimate the quantities of materials needed.
• Fill holes, cracks, and other surface imperfections preparatory to covering surfaces.
• Mix paste, using paste powder and water, and brush paste onto surfaces.
