This is a client-facing role where you will be working with fee earners to retain clients and win new business. The Head of BD is charged with finding ways to maintain Collas Crill's positive image in Cayman, BVI, Channel Islands and further afield. Principal accountabilities include: Strategic business planning and implementation, project managing campaigns that drive results, and providing business advice and coaching for the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Practice Heads and fee earners, ensuring best practice. This person is responsible for conducting research to provide market intel, client mapping, and leads, developing and maintaining client relationships and seeking collaboration with other jurisdictions. They assist individual lawyers with their profiles, client lists, award submissions and directories, trips/meetings, networking, and research into markets/targets. The incumbent must be able to confidently discuss the firm's main practice areas, people, clients, the geographical distinctions in the business, any recent news or announcements, rankings, awards, accolades, strategy, and statistics for multiple jurisdictions.
Applicants must possess experience in producing analytics and reports in order to spot potential targets and new markets. Must demonstrate the proven ability to build relationships with clients and demonstrate in-depth understanding of relevant industry events. Applicants must have expert knowledge of the financial performance of a multi-jurisdictional practice, with the ability to monitor targets, direct client events, manage and reconcile expenditures to a budget, and track BD activities to revenue growth. Applicants are required to possess a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA). An additional qualification in Marketing, Communications or a related field is strongly preferred. A minimum of 8 years' experience at management level or above in a similar role, i.e. synthesizing and leading BD initiatives for a dynamic legal practice, is required, preferably with international or global experience.
