The Global Performance & Transformation Director is responsible, with the support of the Procurement Leadership Team, to Design, Specify & Drive the Procurement function’s capabilities, to enable high performance across the Procurement Organization. With a globally focused team of direct reports, the role will focus on the Procurement priorities: Develop, agree and embed globally consistent policies, processes & tools; Lead strategic programs; Identify & build the Procurement function of the future, especially focused on digital transformation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Governance, Process and Policies:
• Embed/ enhance Procurement performance & decision making processes. E.G Procurement Leadership Team, Strategic Category Management, Strategic Planning & budgeting.
• Ensure Procurement team has the right tools, information & sharing platforms at its fingertips to drive strategy & performance.
• Ensure that key Procurement Policies are embedded & are effective for compliance & performance. Address/react to external events impacting across Procurement.
Strategic Procurement Programs
• Relentlessly drive Procurement Programs to meet Enterprise needs. E.G Supplier Resiliency, SRM/SPM, Cash Release.
• Accelerate & enhance Sourcing With Purpose (Category Management Process) to enable next generation of transformation value to McCormick.
• Design, Specify & Drive People strategy in partnership with, Procurement, HR & Supply Chain Leadership
Procurement Strategy & Transformation
• With Internal, and External Partners, identify & execute next phase digitization to enhance Procurement strategies, speed, insight generation & quality of Procurement work.
• Horizon scan internal & external partners to determine & then execute Procurement function for next 3-10 years: Strategy, People & Organization.
• Work with Procurement & wider leadership to shape the strategies & then to execute them.
Team Leadership & Management
• Set clear goals for the team, lead & manage towards outstanding performance.
• Develop team members for future progression.
• Indirect leadership & coaching of procurement/wider colleagues across the org to help develop capabilities that will transform the organization.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement or applicable field of study required.
• Extensive track record of continued growth and career progression within blue-chip multinational corporations, demonstrating capability in project management & execution of large, cross-functional projects.
• Proven record of building High Performing Organizations and developing talent.
• Deep understanding of Procurement Processes, Strategies & Tools.
• Able to identify, understand & evaluate multiple solutions for Procurement, and translate into compelling transformation programs (example – AI transformation, horizon scanning toolkit).
• Experience establishing and implementing complex sourcing strategies with best-in-class Category Management techniques across multiple categories.
• Leads, manages, or oversees complex process and cross-functional projects and initiatives.
• Regularly works under tight deadlines with significant dollar impact.
• Wider understanding of business processes: Supply Chain & across enterprise.
• Strong communication and ability to negotiate at high levels required to guide, influence, and convince others, in particular Procurement & SC Leadership + functional colleagues (e.g IT, Finance, Transformation Offices).
• Relentless Drive for Results, while being able to bring colleagues, stakeholders & team members with them on the journey.
