Leeward provides governance, corporate services, trust, registered office and director services from its Cayman Islands home office. The Financial Controller owns consolidated reporting across Leeward’s affiliated entities in multiple jurisdictions and currencies, regulatory and statutory reporting, the budgeting cycle, digital asset accounting and treasury operations, and the month-end close and billing, receivables and payables cycles. Reports to the Senior Finance Officer and the Chief Financial Officer; directs the Senior Accountant and finance support team.
Applicants must be able to evidence all of the following:
1. Qualified accountant (CPA, CA or equivalent) with at least five years’ post-qualification relevant experience.
2. Ownership of the consolidated financial statements of a group of affiliated entities across multiple jurisdictions and currencies, through to audit sign-off, including intercompany eliminations, inter-affiliate charges and cost allocation. Preparing components only, or reviewing a consolidation prepared by others, does not meet this requirement.
3. Hands-on experience overseeing digital asset accounting or treasury operations — crypto or stablecoin accounting, DAO or on-chain treasury, reconciliation of wallet, custodian and exchange balances to a general ledger, or audit or advisory work on digital asset funds, token issuers or foundation companies. Interest or study alone does not meet this requirement.
4. Ownership of the budgeting cycle, from initial budget through to budget-versus-actual reporting and reforecasting.
5. Regulatory and statutory reporting, and technical command of the applicable accounting framework sufficient to write and support accounting policies to an external auditor, with direct experience managing external audits through to sign-off.
6. Financial services sector background: fund or DAO administration, fund audit, or trust and corporate services.
7. Advanced automation capability beyond spreadsheet work — business intelligence and AI reporting tools, multi-entity accounting software, and demonstrated delivery of finance workflow, reporting or systems-integration automation.
8. Experience directing a global team.
9. Eligibility to work in the Cayman Islands, or eligibility to hold a Cayman Islands work permit.
In-office in Grand Cayman; not remote or hybrid. Standard business hours; however, the successful candidate must be willing and able to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, where required to meet all business deadlines.
Salary: USD $90,000 – $110,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, plus health insurance and pension in accordance with Cayman Islands labour law and Leeward’s standard benefits.
Leeward is an equal opportunity employer. Caymanians and persons with Caymanian status are encouraged to apply.
