Manager - Portfolio Operations
Responsibilities for this position include overseeing the Operations Team that is responsible for the following: data entry/management; reconciliations; loan transaction processing; fund accounting; and ad hoc reporting. They will work closely with the Operations Team to ensure that all client deliverables, as set out in the relevant service agreement(s), are completed as required and will also act as the primary point of escalation for any issues raised.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
General Responsibilities
- Manage the Operations team, ensuring agreed deliverables to internal and external stakeholders are met. Special project delegation support
- Security transactions capture, processing, pricing, corporate actions processing
- Serve as the escalation point for settlement and operational issues, providing leadership in issue resolution, engaging with trading counterparties as required, and escalating significant risks or concerns to the appropriate management level to ensure timely and effective outcomes.
- Deliver accurate daily, weekly and monthly position and cash reconciliations
- Work with brokers and investment managers to investigate and resolve reconciliation breaks
- Partner with internal accountants to ensure valuation integrity
- Assist with transparency reporting preparation
- Participate in discussions regarding enhancements to the team’s operating model, collaborating with internal and external partners to identify opportunities for improving processes, procedures, and overall operational efficiency
Managerial Responsibilities
- Manage team resource allocation, regular performance reviews, recruiting and training of Assistant Managers
- Conduct performance reviews for direct reports
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualifications: A university graduate with a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics or similar. Professional public accounting qualification (CA, CPA, CGA, CMA or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years’ experience in a similar or combined role working with complex securities and derivative products with detailed knowledge of trade booking, settlement, reporting & reconciliations
- Knowledge: High level of expertise and technical knowledge of alternative investment products, the offshore financial services industry including system technology, portfolio valuation, accounting, share transfer and registration, prime brokerage, financing and custody
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Solid working knowledge of all Windows applications with Excel to an advanced level
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with FM3 software required

SALARY and BENEFITS
- Salary USD$ 97,000 to $ 130,000
- Vacation – 25 days

- Pension – standard per law of 5% up to cap
- Health – 100% of employee only cost on a premier plan
- Annual discretionary bonus
- Relevant professional qualifications subscriptions covered up to US$1,500 per annum.
