AVP, Finance Manager.

Oceanview Secure Reinsurance Ltd. is seeking an AVP, Finance Manager. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial accounting and reporting related to reinsurance contracts and investments. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with US GAAP, preparing statutory filings, and maintaining robust internal controls. Additionally, the AVP, Finance Manager overseas treasury functions, provides audit support, and develops reporting tools to enhance accuracy, and meet regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
• Responsible for the accounting of reinsurance contracts and investments including providing supporting analysis for OSRL and entities within the Oceanview Group
• Drive the preparation of monthly general ledger accounts reconciliations including bank, trust and custody accounts of entities within the group
• Responsible for delivery and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and necessary/relevant analysis and support for the US GAAP financial statements and statutory filings for Cayman and other group entities.
• Creating and maintaining reporting tools to optimize information from the general ledger and/or financial data warehouse as required
• Manage the treasury and receivables/payables function in coordination with affiliate departments as required
• Provide extensive support to both external and internal auditors including the preparation of work papers, analysis of data and information gathering
• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Develop and monitor internal control policies, processes and compliance standards
• Participate in other ad hoc projects as required

Qualifications and Experience
• Internationally recognized accounting designation, e.g. CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA
• A minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience in the (re)insurance industry
• Knowledge and working experience with US GAAP for reinsurance/insurance companies
• In-depth knowledge of annuity products and related accounting for reinsurance of block or flow transactions
• Experience with Cayman statutory reporting including RBC and US Statutory reporting preferred
• Experience with Bermuda statutory reporting including BSCR a plus
• Experience working with Oracle general ledger a plus
• High level analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills
• Self-motivation and the ability to work efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision
• Flexibility to adapt work hours as necessary to meet business needs

The salary range for this position is USD $135,000 – $155,000, plus annual discretionary bonus. The benefit package also includes 100% employer-paid health insurance and pension contributions.
