What is the opportunity?
The Associate Portfolio Manager will support RBC Dominion Securities' investment advisors in their delivery of customized investment strategies to clients.
What will you do?
• Design and implement multi asset class discretionary portfolios
• Analyze financial market trends and economic conditions by reviewing a high volume of research, news, reports and other investment publications to inform the following tasks:
o Closely monitor investment strategies and their individual components to recommend tactical allocation opportunities and changes to long term investment strategies
o Write timely and relevant client friendly investment commentary and portfolio analysis
o Prepare and deliver client portfolio reviews
• Monitor the firm’s investment universe, including individual stocks, bonds, managed portfolios, mutual funds and ETFs and recommend suitable investments to include in client portfolios
• Monitor book of client portfolios to for adherence to the agreed strategy
• Execute securities trades in live-to-market environment
• Build and present portfolio proposals to prospective clients
• Develop relationships with the firm’s portfolio management support resources globally
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
• University Degree in a related field
• An internationally recognized investment management professional designation such as Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
• Minimum 5 years investment management experience
• Minimum 7 years investment industry experience
• Demonstrated presentation skills, both written and oral
• An analytical mind, intellectual curiosity, a team-first attitude, exceptional communications skills and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
• Experience delivering investment solutions working with a client facing, live-to-market discretionary portfolio manager, preferably with high-net-worth clients.
• Marketing/sales background
