Invites applications for the position of Truck Driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for deliveries of cement, concrete and aggregate products to the Company’s customers, including:
Duties:
• Making deliveries of batched concrete , bulk cement , bagged cement and aggregates to customers located at ready-mix batching plants , block plants , construction sites and other facilities,
• Operating the Company’s delivery vehicles and equipment in a safe and careful manner,
• Loading cement products onto the Company’s delivery vehicles and onto customers’ vehicles,
• Offloading cement products onto customer premises and /or storage facilities,
• Following assigned routes and delivery schedules as instructed by the Dispatcher or Plant Manager, making every effort to deliver in a timely and safe manner,
• Carrying out daily inspection of the Company’s delivery vehicles prior to commencing deliveries , including verifying that tires are in good condition , fuel tanks are at adequate levels , and oil, air and tire pressures are at optimum operating levels,
• Keeping a log of all daily deliveries,
• Reporting any accidents to the Dispatcher or Plant Manager immediately and file a written report upon returning to terminal,
• Reporting any equipment faults or mechanical failures to the Plant Manager for repairs scheduling,
• Making sure that Trucks are always clean inside and out
• Assist in general cleaning and maintenance of Plant and equipment
• Assist in general maintenance of Plant and equipment
• Maintaining a neat appearance at all times,
• Providing courteous assistance to the Company’s customers at all times and Performing other duties as assigned by management
The Truck Driver reports to the Plant Manager. Regular operating hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM Saturday (45 regular hours per week, 195 average regular hours per month). 24/7 availability is required. All employees are subject to random testing for drugs or alcohol.
Requirements:
At a minimum, candidates must demonstrate:
1) Current Group 4 Cayman Islands driver’s license,
2) Minimum 3 years of experience in driving tractor – trailer trucks,
3) Mechanical inclination suitable for the safe inspection and operations of large trucks,
4) Physical capability of removing and replacing truck and trailer tires as needed and
5) Proficiency in the English language.
The hourly wage for this position ranges from KYD $12.00 to KYD $ 14.00 per hour, plus pension and health benefits and two weeks of paid vacation.
