Surveyor’s Assistant (Chainman).

Our company Cayman Survey Associates Ltd. are seeking a reliable, physically fit, and detail-oriented Surveyor’s Assistant (Chainman) to join our professional team.

Core Responsibilities
• Site Survey Support: Assist the Land Surveyor in the field by safely transporting, setting up, and handling advanced GPS and Survey equipment under his direct supervision.
• Boundary & Terrain Preparation: Clear dense brush and boundary lines, and accurately construct physical boundary markers on-site under the direct supervision of the Land Surveyor.
• Inventory & Equipment Control: Maintain fleet readiness by restocking work vehicles with essential consumables, stakes, flagging, and tools required for daily operations.
• Official Errands & Agency Submissions: Handle official documentation workflows, including hand-delivering boundary survey plans to the Lands & Survey and Planning departments, checking postal boxes for Government receipts, managing Post Office runs, and occasionally picking up client payments.

Key Requirements & Working Conditions
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience Surveyor’s Assistant (Chainman) or similar role.
• Age & Licensing: Candidates must be 25 years of age or older and hold a valid driver's license.
• Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit to walk long distances over uneven terrain, carry heavy survey equipment, cut bush, and mix/carry concrete.
• Travel Flexibility: Ability to work across all three islands, frequently on short notice.
• Work Environment: Predominantly outdoor work combined with indoor office and errand duties under the direction of the Surveyor.
