Site Supervisor
Full-Time | Site-Based
Relocation required to Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Lead the day-to-day execution of exceptional construction in Grand Cayman - and build your career in the field.
Tranel Group is looking for an experienced, hands-on Construction Site Supervisor to take ownership of daily field execution across high-end residential and commercial projects. You will be on site, coordinating people and trades, planning upcoming work, protecting schedule and quality, and ensuring that each day is organized, productive and safe.
This role is for a field leader who understands how work should come together from start to finish. You should be able to read the drawings, anticipate what the site needs next, communicate clearly with the Construction Manager and Foremen, and keep subcontractors and site teams moving without waiting for constant direction.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
• Hands-on leadership: lead from the field, organize the work and directly influence daily productivity and quality.
• Build one-of-a-kind work: contribute to custom, high-end residential and commercial projects where craftsmanship and detailing matter.
• Real responsibility: work closely with the Construction Manager and take ownership of assigned scopes from planning through completion.
• Visible impact: help shape site culture, crew performance, organization, cleanliness and the standard of finished work.
• No Cayman Islands personal income tax, allowing compensation to compare differently from many higher-tax jurisdictions.
• Live and work in Grand Cayman, with year-round warm weather, world-class beaches and an outdoor island lifestyle outside of work.
About Tranel Group
Tranel Group is a General Contractor based in Grand Cayman specializing in high-end residential and commercial construction. We take a hands-on, collaborative approach with a strong focus on craftsmanship, quality, organization, accountability and attention to detail.
Our expectation is straightforward: plan the work, solve problems early, communicate clearly, hold the team accountable and deliver work that everyone involved can be proud of.
The Role
As Construction Site Supervisor, you will be responsible for the daily coordination and execution of work on active construction sites. You will work closely with the Construction Manager and Foremen while coordinating workers, subcontractors, trades, vendors and deliveries.
You should be equally comfortable walking the site, reviewing drawings and details, assigning priorities, checking workmanship, coordinating a delivery, challenging a subcontractor when standards are not met, documenting progress and communicating what the project needs next.
What You Will Own
• Supervise and coordinate daily site operations, including Foremen, workers, subcontractors, trades and vendors.
• Plan and drive daily and weekly work priorities so site activities align with the project schedule and upcoming milestones.
• Review architectural, structural and MEP drawings, specifications and details before work proceeds, and communicate requirements clearly to the field team.
• Coordinate sequencing between trades and identify manpower, material, equipment, access and information requirements in advance.
• Monitor subcontractor manpower, productivity, workmanship and follow-through, and escalate performance concerns early.
• Conduct regular site inspections and verify that work meets drawings, specifications, approved details and Tranel Group quality standards.
• Maintain high standards for safety, site organization, housekeeping and protection of completed work.
• Coordinate materials, equipment and deliveries to support the planned work and reduce avoidable delays.
• Identify site conflicts, missing information and constructability issues early and bring forward practical solutions.
• Maintain accurate daily logs, site photographs, manpower records and required Buildertrend/project documentation.
• Coordinate inspections and testing with the project team and support punch-list, closeout and handover activities.
• Communicate proactively with the Construction Manager regarding progress, constraints, risks, decisions required and upcoming work.
• Train, guide and hold site personnel accountable to company expectations for quality, professionalism, organization and productivity.
Requirements
• Minimum 5+ years of construction experience in a Site Supervisor field-leadership role with a General Contractor.
• Proven experience supporting or supervising ground-up construction, custom or high-end single-family residential projects, from structural phases through finishes and handover.
• Strong hands-on understanding of construction methods, sequencing, concrete and structural work, building envelope, MEP coordination and finishes.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple subcontractors, trades and site personnel while maintaining schedule, quality and safety.
• Ability to independently read and interpret architectural, structural and MEP drawings, specifications and construction details.
• Strong short-term planning, organization and site-logistics skills, with the ability to anticipate what the project needs next.
• High standards for workmanship, detailing, cleanliness and protection of finished work.
• Proven ability to identify problems, communicate clearly and drive practical solutions without requiring constant direction.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the confidence to set expectations and hold teams and subcontractors accountable.
• Comfortable using digital construction tools for reporting and coordination. Buildertrend, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office experience are assets.
• Caribbean or island construction experience is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related discipline.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required.
Who Will Thrive in This Role
This role suits a field leader who takes ownership naturally. You do not wait for every issue to be assigned; you understand the plan, identify what needs to happen next and keep the site moving.
• Hands-on, proactive and accountable.
• Organized and disciplined with strong follow-through.
• Calm under pressure and comfortable making day-to-day field decisions within your responsibility.
• Confident coordinating Foremen, workers, subcontractors and multiple trades.
• Clear communicator who asks questions when information is incomplete and escalates issues early.
• Detail-oriented with high standards for craftsmanship and finished work.
• Comfortable balancing productivity with safety, quality and site organization.
• Able to adapt to island construction realities, including procurement, lead times and logistics.
• Interested in meaningful field responsibility and growing with a hands-on General Contractor.
