SENIOR ASSOCIATE – LITIGATION AND INSOLVENCY

Forbes Hare is a law firm that practices Cayman and British Virgin Islands law. Our clientele is sophisticated and international and our contentious practice specialises in complex work.

We invite applications for a senior associate attorney position in our Cayman Islands office.

Requirements (as a minimum):
• First class academic credentials
• At least 9 years’ post qualification experience in insolvency, commercial litigation, trust litigation, civil fraud, company law and/or investment funds, gained either as an advocate or in a major onshore or offshore law firm
• The ability to take a leading role in cases and demonstrable experience of having done so
• Significant experience of having worked successfully with overseas clients and legal teams in multiple time zones in substantial multi-jurisdictional litigation
• The aptitude, ability and personality to develop client relationships, to attract new clients and to build a litigation practice
• Language ability, particularly Mandarin, strongly preferred as Forbes Hare has a significant Chinese client base
• Experience of British Virgin Islands law or the ability to be admitted in the BVI as the role may entail working on BVI as well as Cayman cases.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, ability and experience and within the range of US$185,000 to US$225,000 per annum. A potential discretionary bonus and statutory health insurance and pension benefits are also offered.
