We are seeking an experienced corporate lawyer with 6—8 years PQE to join our growing practice and play an important role in supporting the firm’s corporate law offering.
The candidate will advise clients on matters of corporate law including the drafting of customized corporate constitutional documents, detailed transactional documents, advising on international business reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions and related due diligence. This requires a detailed understanding of relevant Cayman law and the ability to draft complex legal documents required by KPMG’s clients. The candidate must be able to provide legal advice that is detailed, but practical and commercial, while working closely with the corporate Partners and the corporate services team to support the demands of our clients, their transactions and the law practice. You will be expected to build strong, effective working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders and contribute to the ongoing development of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high‑quality corporate legal advice on a range of corporate, reorganization and transactional matters.
• Support and where appropriate, lead transactions.
• Manage client matters effectively, ensuring clarity of scope, delivery, and commercial outcomes
• Manage work in progress and accounts receivables in accordance with business standards
• Collaborate closely with Partners and the corporate services team to deliver client work
• Build and maintain client and internal relationships with clear and effective communication throughout
• Support the development of precedents and internal knowledge resources
• Contribute to the growth and development of the firm’s corporate legal practice
• Mentor and support junior team members where appropriate
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
• Necessary to be a qualified lawyer with at least 6 years’ post‑qualification experience from a top‑tier international law firm.
• Technical expertise and exceptional experience in corporate law, international reorganizations and international transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, is essential.
• Important to have relatable experience of building client relationships and providing detailed technical knowledge in a practical way while undertaking the key responsibilities.
• Ability to contribute to practice development and support the delivery of client work
• The ability to carry out business development is an important advantage.
• International experience in other Commonwealth jurisdictions, and specific experience in Ireland is desirable
• A working knowledge of KPMG locally and internationally is an advantage.
