Pump Attendant/Cashier/Shelf Stocker.

The Pump Attendant / Cashier / Shelf Stocker plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations at our gas station. This position involves assisting customers with fueling their vehicles, handling cash transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:
1. Fuel Dispensing:
o Greet customers as they arrive at the fuel station.
o Assist customers in fueling their vehicles, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
o Monitor fuel pumps and promptly address any technical issues.
2. Cash Handling:
o Operate the cash register to process fuel and convenience store purchases.
o Accept cash, credit card, and mobile payment transactions accurately.
o Provide change and receipts to customers.
3. Customer Service:
o Provide excellent customer service by answering inquiries, addressing concerns, and resolving issues.
o Assist customers with locating items in the convenience store.
o Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor at all times.
o Carry customers’ purchases out to the parking lot, and help pack groceries into their vehicles, as needed.
4. Inventory Management and Shelf Stocking:
o Monitor inventory levels and report shortages to the manager.
o Keep the store shelves organized and presentable.
o Unpack products received by stores, stock shelves, racks and display areas with merchandise, and store extra items in stockrooms.
o Check for damaged / expired items and reports these findings to Store Supervisor.
o Bag purchases for customers.
5. Safety and Cleanliness:
o Ensure the fuel station area is clean and free from debris.
o Follow safety guidelines when handling fuel and other hazardous materials.
o Report any safety hazards or maintenance needs promptly.
o Clean up broken items and other messes.
6. Record Keeping:
o Maintain accurate records of fuel sales, inventory, and cash transactions.
o Prepare daily reports for management.

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• Basic computer literacy for operating the cash register.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Working Conditions:
• The Pump Attendant / Assistant Cashier works primarily outdoors at the fuel station.
• Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights may be required.

In addition, all staff are expected to follow the Company policies listed below:

1. Courtesy and respect must be shown to all customers at all times. Customer service is the key to success.
2. Follow published work schedules and strictly adhere to times indicated thereon.
3. No eating, drinking, smoking, chewing gum in the stores.
4. We have a zero-tolerance policy with regards to drugs and alcohol, and we reserve the right to test, and to terminate any employee who is confirmed to have a problem.
5. Use of cellular phones during working hours is prohibited. Cellular phone use should be reserved for breaks and lunch hours.
6. Maintain a clean, smart appearance at all times. (Staff are issued with shirts and these should be worn as directed.)
