Operations Officer – Digital Assets.

Position Summary:
As Operations Officer, Digital Assets, you will act as a client-facing operational lead, supporting clients across digital asset projects, foundation companies and virtual asset service providers. The role spans VASP and AML/CFT regulatory readiness, cybersecurity and technology risk reviews, and client onboarding, account openings and exchange listings, bridging technical systems with regulatory and compliance requirements across client engagements.

Key Responsibilities:
• Client Cybersecurity, Technology Risk and Operations Reviews:
o Assess and advise on cybersecurity and technology risk frameworks within client operations.
o Support implementation of IT governance, internal controls, and data security standards.
o Conduct risk assessments of systems, vendors, and operational infrastructure, including third-party due diligence of service providers.
o Bridge the gap between technical systems and regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Client VASP and Regulatory Advisory:
o Support clients (including directors) with VASP readiness, licensing assessments, and regulatory frameworks.
o Conduct gap analyses and remediation planning across compliance, governance, and operational structures.
o Assist with the design and implementation of AML/CFT frameworks, including KYC/CDD/EDD procedures, transaction monitoring and sanctions controls.
o Support Travel Rule readiness and regulatory submissions.
• Digital Asset Operations:
o Act as a client-facing lead across compliance, onboarding, and listing workstreams.
o Coordinate across legal, tax, finance, and technical teams and manage end-to-end delivery.
o Provide clear, structured updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
o Support preparation of board materials, compliance reporting, and regulatory documentation.
• Digital Asset Account Openings, Listings and Operational Readiness:
o Lead and coordinate end-to-end onboarding and account setup across:
▪ Banks
▪ Crypto exchanges
▪ Custodians and wallet providers (MPC, multisig and custody solutions)
o Manage and execute exchange listing applications, including:
▪ Preparation of application materials and supporting documentation
▪ Coordination of due diligence responses and data rooms
▪ Managing correspondence with exchanges throughout the review process
o Own the preparation and submission of KYB/KYC packs, compliance documentation, and onboarding materials.
o Act as the primary liaison with institutions, managing RFIs, due diligence queries, and onboarding negotiations.
o Ensure all onboarding and listing processes are aligned with regulatory expectations, governance structures, and source of funds clarity.
o Design and implement operational controls, including signatory structures, access controls, and approval workflows.
o Troubleshoot onboarding and listing blockers and navigate jurisdictional and regulatory sensitivities.
o Maintain structured tracking of onboarding and listing processes to ensure timely execution.
Key Qualifications, Skills & Experience Requirement:
• Bachelor’s degree (Honours) in Engineering, Engineering Management, Information Technology or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in financial services across technology risk, cybersecurity, IT audit and regulatory compliance, including prior Big 4 or professional services consulting experience.
• Hands-on experience with digital asset businesses, including VASP licensing assessments and readiness reviews for crypto exchanges or virtual asset trading platforms.
• Strong grounding in cybersecurity governance, IT general controls, internal controls and third-party risk management within regulated financial institutions.
• Working knowledge of FATF-aligned AML/CFT requirements, including KYC/CDD/EDD procedures, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, Travel Rule and client asset segregation.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally on short notice, including on-site client commitments lasting several weeks to multiple months.
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including early mornings, late evenings or weekends, to support clients across Asia, Europe and North America time zones.
• Demonstrated experience producing gap analyses, remediation roadmaps and regulatory submissions for financial services regulators.
• Strong understanding of blockchain technology, Web3, DeFi protocols, tokenised assets and digital asset custody models (MPC, multisig and custodial solutions).
• Fluency in English and Mandarin and/or Cantonese in supporting Asia-based clients and counterparties.
• Proven project management capability across the full delivery lifecycle, managing multiple workstreams and reporting to senior management.
• Professional certification in blockchain, project management or IT governance is desirable.
• Strong communication, documentation and stakeholder-facing skills, with the ability to translate technical matters into clear regulatory and commercial language for clients, institutions and boards.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, adaptable, and proactive, with the ability to maintain accuracy under tight deadlines.
