We are seeking a qualified, professional, and detail-oriented individual to join our team. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of laboratory practice and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collect specimens and analyze bodily fluids such as blood, urine, and spinal fluid.
• Prepare reports by analyzing and summarizing test findings.
• Label and organize all tests appropriately to ensure easy retrieval.
• Verify test results and ensure they are correctly matched with the corresponding specimens.
• Communicate effectively with medical personnel, providing clinical information regarding testing and results.
• Visit various doctors' clinics daily.
• Perform administrative duties in a medical facility, including insurance verifications, submissions, and record-keeping.
• Maintain inventory, order medical supplies, and assist with clearing shipments through the customs department.
• Adhere to infection control and waste disposal policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• A minimum of seven (7) years of experience working as a Medical Technologist.
• A Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology.
• Certification from C.A.S.M.E.T, A.M.T., or A.S.C.P.
• Registered with the Health Practice Commission in the Cayman Islands.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems.
• Police Clearance, three professional reference letters, and drug-free status required.
• Proven knowledge and experience with the ChemWell Analyzer, the A.B.X. Pentra 60C+, the NycoCard Reader System, AVL, and the Dia Med ID Microtyping system.
• Strong background in Microbiology and experience with the API System.
• Excellent Phlebotomy skills.
• Ability to perform administrative duties, including insurance verifications and submissions.
• Ability to work independently for extended periods while maintaining professional standards.
• Capable of ordering medical supplies, assisting with customs clearance, and managing inventory.
• Effective communication skills, particularly in interpreting and providing clinical information regarding testing and results.
Working Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday through Saturday.
