Position Overview
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high‑quality meals in accordance with the restaurant’s standards, ensuring consistency, cleanliness, and efficiency on the cooking line. This role supports the Head Chef and kitchen team in delivering excellent food service during breakfast, lunch, and dinner operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation — Prepare ingredients, portion items, and follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
- Cooking & Plating — Cook menu items on the line (grill, sauté, fry, oven, etc.) and plate dishes according to restaurant specifications.
- Quality Control — Maintain high standards of food quality, freshness, and portion accuracy.
- Kitchen Cleanliness — Keep workstations clean, sanitized, and organized throughout service.
- Inventory Support — Assist with stock rotation, labeling, and reporting low‑stock items to supervisors.
- Food Safety Compliance — Follow all food handling, hygiene, and safety regulations as required by Cayman Islands Public Health.
- Team Collaboration — Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service and timely order execution.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Culinary Experience — Minimum 1–2 years in a commercial kitchen or similar role.
- Knife Skills — Ability to chop, slice, dice, and prepare ingredients efficiently and safely.
- Time Management — Ability to work quickly during high‑volume service periods.
- Food Safety Knowledge — Understanding of safe food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Physical Stamina — Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Culinary Certification from a recognized institution.
- Experience with Caribbean Cuisine or international menu styles.
- High‑Volume Kitchen Experience.
Work Schedule
- Full‑time position
- Shift work including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
- Overtime as required during peak service periods
