The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa invites qualified Caymanians, Cayman Status/RERC/ PR Holders to apply for the following position:

Line Cook / Groundsperson

This dual role will be partly responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals consistently, support restaurant service, banquet functions, and special events on an as needed basis. Additionally, this position will also at times handle the general maintenance, landscaping, and upkeep of our resort grounds. The successful candidate will ensure that all common areas, meeting spaces, restaurants, and swimming pools remain pristine, functional, and safe.

Primary responsibilities for the Line Cook / Groundsperson role will include but not limited to the following:

• Prepare a variety of hot and cold meals according to various specifications, portion sizes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
• Set up and stock assigned station with required food items for restaurant or banquet service.
• Execute a variety of cooking methods (grilling, sautéing, frying, roasting, etc.) with consistency and timeliness during high-volume periods.
• Visually inspect, select, and use only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients for all preparations.
• Measure, weigh, portion, and label food items accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstation, equipment, and kitchen areas in compliance with health codes and resort standards.
• Support the banquet team as needed with plating, garnishing etc.
• Manage food waste, control inventory, and prepare requisitions for supplies as needed.
• Practice daily food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Occasionally perform equipment maintenance checks, deep cleaning tasks etc.
• Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all outdoor common areas, restaurants, and meeting spaces.
• Other duties may be assigned based on business needs.

Required qualifications and experience:
• Minimum 3–4 years of experience as Line Cook / Groundsperson in a Luxury Resort setting required.
• Culinary Diploma, Certificate or proof of formal culinary training required.
• Proven knowledge of various cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and basic knife skills.
• Must understand food safety, sanitation standards, and applicable culinary health regulations.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods, work in hot/humid conditions, and handle kitchen tools safely.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
• Excellent teamwork, communication, and organizational skills required.
• Additional experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, property maintenance in a Luxury Resort setting required.
• Basic hands-on repair skills and practical knowledge of groundskeeping required.
• Ability to perform demanding physical labour outdoors in tropical weather, including lifting heavy equipment and standing for long periods in rainy and hot conditions.
• Execute minor outdoor repairs and routine maintenance tasks across the property grounds.
• Must be flexible to work all required shifts including early mornings, late evenings/nights, weekends and public holidays.

Pay range is C.I $6.56 - $7.00 hourly plus gratuities
