Position: Truck Driver and Mechanic
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Salary: CI$13.00 per hour
Working Hours: 45 hours per week

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and hardworking Truck Driver and Mechanic to operate company vehicles and perform routine maintenance servicing, troubleshooting and repairs on trucks and other company vehicles.

The successful candidate must have strong mechanical knowledge and good driving skills with a commitment to workplace safety and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate company trucks and other authorized vehicles as required.
Transport materials, equipment, supplies, or other loads to designated locations safely and efficiently.
Conduct daily tripe and post trip vehicle inspections.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and other vehicle related problems.
Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on trucks and company vehicles.
Repair or replace defective components, including brakes, suspension systems, steering components, batteries, belts, hoses, filters, lights, and other mechanical parts.
Perform engine and transmission inspections and repairs within the employee’s level of competence.
Carry out oil changes, lubrication, fluid checks, tire inspections, and other scheduled maintenance.
Identify potential mechanical problems before they result in vehicle breakdowns.
Respond to vehicle breakdowns and perform roadside repairs when necessary.
Maintain tools, workshop equipment, and the work area in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Maintain accurate records of vehicle servicing, maintenance, repairs, parts used, and inspections.
Report major mechanical defects, accidents, damage or safety concerns to management immediately.
Ensure vehicles are maintained in a safe and roadworthy condition.
Follow all company health and safety procedures and Cayman Islands road and traffic requirements.
Assist with loading and unloading materials or equipment when required.
Perform other reasonable duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Requirements
Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience as a truck, diesel, automotive, or heavy equipment mechanic.
Previous professional truck driving experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, suspension, steering, electrical systems, and general vehicle maintenance.
Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs with minimal supervision.
Experience working with heavy trucks and commercial vehicles is strongly preferred.
Must possess a valid driver’s licence appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
Ability to use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, power tools, and standard workshop equipment
Must be dependable, punctual, responsible, and safety conscious.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Must be physically capable of performing mechanical work, including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in outdoor and out door conditions.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or respond to emergency breakdowns when required.

Salary: CI$13.00 per hour
