HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Pro Stars Ltd. is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to join its construction team.

Employment Type: Full-time
Working Hours: 45 hours per week; availability to work evenings, weekends and overtime as project requirements dictate
Hourly Rate: CI$12.00-CI$16.00, depending on qualifications and experience
Location: Grand Cayman

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Safely operate heavy construction equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders and backhoes.
Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical faults or safety concerns.
Assist with the setup, movement and secure storage of machinery and attachments.
Carry out routine cleaning and basic maintenance to keep equipment in good working condition.
Follow site plans, operating instructions and directions from supervisors.
Load, move, excavate, grade and place materials as required.
Observe established health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.
Coordinate effectively with supervisors, site personnel and other equipment operators.
Support project teams with general construction duties when required.
Participate in safety training and skills-development activities.
Maintain accurate equipment and operating records where required.

Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of three to four years’ relevant experience operating heavy construction equipment.
Sound knowledge of equipment operation, daily inspections and workplace safety procedures.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
Strong commitment to safety, reliability and punctuality.
Ability to work outdoors and perform duties in varying weather and site conditions.
Clean Police Clearance Certificate.
Two recent professional reference letters.
Valid driver’s licence, own basic hand tools and reliable transportation would be assets.
Relevant equipment-operation certification would be an advantage.
