Job Summary: The Culture, Values and Ethos lead will provide strategic leadership for the development and implementation of the school’s culture, values and personal development provision. The role is central to promoting a positive, inclusive and aspirational school environment in which students thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
The postholder will lead on whole-school ethos, student leadership, PSHE and pastoral enrichment, ensuring that the school’s values are embedded consistently across all aspects of school life. They will work closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, tutors, students, parents and external agencies to strengthen behaviour, belonging, student voice and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Whole-School Culture and Ethos
• Lead and promote the school’s values, culture and ethos across all key stages.
• Support the development of a positive, inclusive and respectful school environment.
• Embed whole-school rewards, recognition and celebration systems.
• Contribute to behaviour culture, student engagement and pastoral support systems.
• Ensure best and emerging practice in culture and ethos is implemented consistently across the school.

PSHE and Personal Development
• Lead the strategic development and implementation of the PSHE and Life Lessons curriculum.
• Ensure the curriculum reflects statutory guidance and supports students’ personal, social and emotional development.
• Coordinate delivery through tutors and pastoral teams.
• Lead whole-school initiatives relating to equality, diversity and inclusion work.

Student Leadership and Student Voice
• Lead all aspects of student leadership, including Student Council
• Develop meaningful opportunities for student voice and participation.
• Support students in contributing to school improvement and community initiatives.

Pastoral Leadership and Achievement Support
• Line manage tutors.
• Support the development of effective tutor programmes, assemblies and intervention strategies.
• Monitor and support tutor time provision and targeted pastoral support.
• Oversee systems that support priority students and student wellbeing.

Transitions and Inclusion
• Lead and coordinate transition programmes across key phases, including:
o Year 6 to Year 7
o Year 9 options
o Year 11 to Post-16 pathways
• Work collaboratively with external partners and feeder schools to ensure successful transitions.

Enrichment and Wider Opportunities
• Lead and monitor extra-curricular activities and enrichment opportunities.
• Ensure equitable access to enrichment for all student groups.
• Promote student participation, leadership and belonging through wider school experiences.

Parent and Community Engagement
• Lead on parent communication initiatives, including parent events, coffee mornings, newsletters and community engagement activities.
• Develop strong partnerships with families and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with external agencies and organizations to enhance student opportunities and support.

Strategic Leadership
• Contribute to school improvement planning, self-evaluation and policy development.
• Produce and implement action plans linked to culture, values and personal development priorities.
• Work collaboratively with senior leaders to ensure alignment with the school improvement agenda.

Salary scale:
• Base salary KYD$50,000 - KYD72,000 (based on experience).
• Additional responsibility allowance of $5000.
• 100% top tier medical insurance paid by the school
• Pension as per labour law
• Triennial resigning bonus of KYD$4,000 if sign a new contract
