About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and help drive change and efficiencies in the ways of working.

The role will report to the Global Collections Manager and will play a pivotal role in the financial operations of our law firm, overseeing all aspects of electronic billing processes. This position requires strong leadership, a keen eye for detail, and a thorough understanding of law firm billing practices and e-billing platforms. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of all e-billing activities, building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead on all e-Billing issues and be the Group-wide representative on this topic.

Primary responsibilities include:
• Manage the end-to-end e-billing process, ensuring timely and accurate submission of electronic invoices to clients via various e-billing platforms
• Reviewing, testing and bedding in of newly implemented system – Bill Blast
• Act as primary point of contact for e-billing queries from clients, fee-earners and support staff
• Management of the e-Billing team, and ensure that all failed submissions and rejections are adequately followed up and rectified within a timely manner
• Monitor and maintain compliance with client billing guidelines, ensuring adherence to billing rules and minimising invoice rejections
• Collaborate with the finance team and fee-earners to reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies related to e-billing submissions
• Educate and train the wider business in the nuances of the e-Billing process with the aim to provide a more seamless service
• Encourage a performance-based culture within the team and provide KPIs on performance
• Regular liaison with Collections and key client contacts, ensuring ownership and smooth invoice transition through to approved statuses, resulting in a more aligned approach
• Management of onboarding of clients to e-Billing, and work closely with the Rates team

EXPERIENCE

What You Bring
In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses:

• Previous E-Billing experience in a senior position
• Proficiency with major e-billing platforms and formats (i.e. LEDES)
• Experience with E-Hub, BillBlast, or similar and strong MS Excel skills
• Solid understanding of law firm billing processes, client guidelines, and financial controls
• Strong line management skills with a proven track record of high achievement
• Ability to manage and implement change
• Strong systems knowledge and understanding, previous implementation of new systems
• Process documentation, review and development
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex billing matters to non-financial colleagues and clients
• Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, especially when dealing with numerical data
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proactive in identifying and resolving issues
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team and demonstrated ability to work with teams in different jurisdictions and time-zones
