About the Position

James Taron Smith T/A Smiths Transport is seeking an experienced, reliable, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Delivery Driver / Auto Parts Advisor.

Key Responsibilities

Auto Parts Advisor

Assist customers in identifying and selecting the appropriate auto parts based on vehicle make, model, year, specifications, and requirements.
Provide accurate and professional information regarding auto parts, accessories, compatibility, pricing, and availability.
Explain the function, usage, and basic installation requirements of automotive parts clearly to customers.
Process in-store, telephone, and online orders accurately and efficiently.
Prepare quotations, invoices, receipts, and other sales documentation.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automotive parts, brands, products, and industry developments.
Assist with inventory control, including receiving, checking, labeling, shelving, and organizing stock.
Monitor stock levels and identify items that need to be reordered.
Coordinate with suppliers to source special-order, unavailable, or out-of-stock items when required.
Handle customer inquiries, concerns, exchanges, and returns in accordance with company policies.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe sales and storage areas.
Assist with promotional activities and recommend suitable products based on customer needs.
Work closely with delivery drivers, mechanics, suppliers, and other team members to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.

Delivery Driver Responsibilities

Deliver auto parts, automotive supplies, and related goods to customers promptly and professionally.
Collect parts, supplies, and other ordered items from suppliers, warehouses, or other locations as required.
Verify delivery orders before leaving the premises and ensure the correct items are delivered to the correct customers.
Obtain customer acknowledgments/signatures and maintain accurate delivery records.
Safely load, secure, transport, and unload goods to prevent damage.
Conduct basic checks of the company vehicle to ensure it is in safe and roadworthy condition.
Report any vehicle defects, maintenance requirements, accidents, or other concerns promptly.
Follow all applicable traffic and road safety regulations.
Provide courteous and professional customer service while making deliveries.
Represent Smiths Transport in a professional manner when interacting with customers, suppliers, and members of the public.
Assist with general warehouse, stock, and order fulfillment duties when required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

The successful applicant must:

Have more than 9 years of experience in the automotive parts and/or delivery field, with substantial experience performing similar duties.
Possess a valid driver's licence.
Have strong knowledge of automotive parts, accessories, and vehicle applications.
Be able to accurately identify parts and determine compatibility based on vehicle information.
Have excellent customer service and communication skills.
Be reliable, punctual, responsible, and able to work independently.
Have good organizational and record-keeping skills.
Be physically capable of loading, unloading, moving, and handling automotive parts and supplies.
Demonstrate a professional attitude and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
Be willing to perform both auto parts advisory and delivery duties as required.
