Deckhand.

Seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated individual to join our company as a Deckhand. We are a start-up private boat charter company offering custom boat charters to families and small groups.

This is a part time position for the summer with a view to becoming full time for the 2026 busy season and thereafter.

This is an opportunity for the right candidate to grow with our company in your skillset/experience in piloting boats, marine operations, mechanics, engine servicing and customer service. You will be an integral part of a very small team and as such we are willing to invest in the right candidate not just from a salary standpoint once the position becomes full-time and as experience increases but also in sponsoring future further relevant qualifications for the right employee depending on their interest and desire.

Initial primary responsibilities will include preparing the boat for charters, cleaning the boat, stocking the boat, interacting with guests with the highest level of care and attention, adhering to local wildlife and conservation rules and regulations.

Requires skills and qualities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong swimmer
- Reliable ideally with own transportation
- Good problem solving skills
- A passion for boating and marine wildlife
- A passion for learning and a willingness to take on new challenges with enthusiasm

Other requirements:
- Must be time flexible and willing to work on short notice if needed
- willing to work week days, weekends, evenings and some public holidays
- willing to work long hours some days during busy season
- able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs

We ask for 1-2 years of employment experience (to be verified before starting) but that experience does not need to be as a deckhand or in another marine or watersports role.
