We are seeking a skilled, reliable, and experienced Carpenter/Labourer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all carpentry work related to the construction, maintenance, and repair of wooden structures, using various machines and hand tools.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct work at various locations according to blueprints, sketches, and specifications, following building codes and trade practices.
• Assist with building layouts, framing, sheathing, and roofing structures.
• Measure, cut, and shape wood materials using tapes, saws, and chisels.
• Assemble and join structural components using nails, screws, or adhesives.
• Build scaffolding and ladders for construction work on tall structures.
• Oversee the selection of construction raw materials, specifying the type and quantity of required materials.
• Construct fences, tables, cabinets, racks, and various wooden fixtures.
• Install pre-constructed materials/structures, such as shelves and cabinets, in homes and offices.
• Remove and replace damaged or worn-out parts of structures.
• Operate power tools such as circular saws, nail guns, and sanders.
• Conduct work according to blueprints, sketches, and specifications, following building codes and trade best practices.
• Construct frames/structures for casting concrete during building construction.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Minimum five (5) years of carpentry experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of construction designs, carpentry, and the repair and maintenance of wooden structures and surfaces.
• Knowledge of carpentry materials, tools, and techniques.
• Experience in the alteration, repair, and maintenance of carpentry structures and surfaces.
• Must have own tools and the ability to read blueprints, measure accurately, and calculate dimensions.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and follow oral and written technical instructions.
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Working Hours: Normal working hours are on a shift basis, not exceeding 45 hours per week, Monday through Saturday.
