Carpenter/Handyman.

Cayman Medical is seeking an experienced and reliable Carpenter / Handyman to assist with the interior fit-out and ongoing development of our medical facility in George Town.
We are looking for a highly practical, versatile individual who is able to independently perform a broad range of interior construction, finishing, repair and maintenance work to a high professional standard.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake work including:
• Installation and adjustment of interior doors, frames, locks and door hardware
• Installation of baseboards, trim and mouldings
• Drywall installation, repairs, patching and finishing
• Preparation and painting of walls, doors, ceilings and other surfaces
• Installation, repair and modification of suspended ceiling grids and ceiling tiles
• Basic carpentry and finish carpentry
• Installation and modification of cabinetry, shelving, countertops and fixtures
• Minor interior demolition and preparation of spaces for renovation
• Installation of wall-mounted fixtures, accessories and equipment
• Minor flooring repairs and installation where appropriate
• General repairs and maintenance throughout the facility
• Measuring, cutting, fitting and installation of construction materials
• Collection, handling and organization of materials and supplies
• Maintaining a clean, organized and safe work area
• Identifying problems and recommending practical solutions
• Coordinating and working alongside electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians and other licensed trades where required
• Assisting with other renovation, maintenance and facility-related duties as reasonably required
The position does not require the employee to independently perform regulated electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire-alarm or other licensed work.
Requirements
Applicants should have:
• Minimum 5 years' practical experience in carpentry, handyman, renovation, maintenance or interior fit-out work
• Strong experience with doors, trim, drywall, painting and general interior finishing
• Good knowledge of construction methods, materials and hand/power tools
• Ability to read measurements accurately and work from drawings or instructions
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good attention to detail and quality of finish
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Reliability, punctuality and good work ethic
• Ability to work effectively alongside other trades
• Ability to safely lift and move construction materials and equipment
• Good communication skills
• Valid Cayman Islands driver's licence and own transportation preferred
• Commercial renovation or fit-out experience strongly preferred
• Experience with healthcare, office, hotel or other high-quality commercial interiors would be an advantage

We are particularly interested in an individual who is multi-skilled and capable of completing jobs independently from preparation through final finishing, rather than someone experienced only in general labour.
