The Veterinarian will be responsible for:
Day to day preventive health care, as well as medical and surgical management of a variety of small animal patients of different species.
He/she will assist with the direction of a team of veterinary assistants to ensure that the best quality patient services are delivered.
Will also assist with Practice Management activities to secure the efficient and effective operation of the facility.
Will train assistants to increase technical competencies among staff. Will build strong and lasting relationships with clients and their pets.
Qualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree or equivalent from an accredited University.
At least 5-7 years practice experience in a full-service hospital OR a post graduate certificate of completion of Internship training in medicine and surgery from an accredited veterinary medical Institution.
Licensure in good standing in the country where currently domiciled.
Eligibility for licensure/registration with the Cayman Islands Veterinary Board.
Applicants should also possess:
Ability and flexibility to respond to after-hours medical and surgical emergencies, as required.
Ability to work independently and well, in a culturally diverse setting of staff and clients.
A High level of maturity, professionalism, initiative, integrity and confidentiality.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation and presentation skills.
Proven diagnostic skill sets, as well as proficiency at conducting general surgical procedures; emergency and critical care management; and anaesthetic management of a variety of patients of different species.
A serious interest in/or a demonstrable competency in Dentistry and /or Orthopedics would be an asset.
Base Salary: Range USD 66,000 - 106, 000 per annum. The full compensation package includes Statutory Health Insurance and Pension benefits Continuing Education allowance, Emergency production structure, Vacation entitlement and paid memberships to the local medical association and a professional veterinary network.
