Buy $mart has operated in Grand Cayman since 2016, importing consolidated container loads from vendors in the United States and Canada through freight forwarders and clearing them through Cayman Islands Customs for sale at retail. The business runs on NCR Counter Point at the point of sale and two custom Access software platforms used to manage the operation and movement of goods. Pulse operates the back-end functionality and Sparc runs the store and warehouse functionalities. The Assistant is expected to be fluent in these tools and in the rhythms of a twelve-period retail buying calendar, lead time processes, and managing target product margins.
