Kirk Home Centre Ltd. invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of Accounts Receivable Bookkeeper.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be responsible to record the credit sales, accounts receivable and cash receipts for multiple divisions of the Company and its affiliates, including:
• Maintaining 500+ credit customer files
• Maintaining electronic customer profiles in the accounting and point-of-sale systems
• Recording the till activity of all cashiers
• Recording card sales and settlements on a daily basis
• Recording and collecting returned checks
• Investigating till discrepancies
• Filing daily till reconciliations and supporting documents
• Reconciling weekly sales by division across multiple accounting systems
• Reconciling card-processor receivables on a daily basis
• Printing and mailing monthly customer statements, with invoice copies enclosed
• Providing copies of charge sales documents to customers when requested
• Receiving and recording customer payments on charge accounts
• Receiving and processing customer credit applications
• Participating in and preparing minutes of credit control meetings
• Preparing and mailing weekly collection letters and other correspondence concerning customer charge accounts
• Activating and deactivating customer charge accounts
• Working with attorneys concerning overdue balances
• Promoting awareness of credit policies
• Training and assisting Accounts Receivable Clerks
This position will report to the Financial Accountant. Regular office hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM, Monday through Friday.
Requirements:
At a minimum, candidates must have a four-year college Bachelor degree in Accounting, Management Accounting or Accounting Information Systems and at least five years of job experience in accounting. Candidates must demonstrate:
• Competence in financial accounting
• Competence in financial accounting systems, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
• The experience and ability to meet the deadlines attached to the responsibilities described above
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Fast, accurate data entry skills
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is CI$35,999.60 to CI$43999.80 per annum. Benefits include a company-sponsored pension plan, a company-sponsored health insurance plan and three weeks of paid vacation.
