Welder
The ideal candidate will be responsible for welding, fabricating, repairing, and reinforcing metal components on heavy
machinery and equipment. This role supports equipment reliability by performing high-quality welding, preparing
materials, inspecting completed work, and following established safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Weld, fabricate, repair, and reinforce components on heavy equipment such as buckets, dump trucks,
excavators, bull dozers, trailers, backhoes, frames and structural assemblies.
• Use appropriate welding processes, which may include flux-core, arc welding, and oxy-fuel or plasma cutting.
• Read and interpret work orders, measurements, and specifications to determine welding requirements.
• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, fitting, cleaning, beveling, and positioning components before welding.
• Inspect completed welding for quality, alignment, strength, penetration, and compliance with specifications.
• Repair cracked, worn, or damaged metal parts to restore safe and reliable equipment operation.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, welding machines, grinders, hoists, and related shop
equipment.
• Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work areas in safe, clean, and operating conditions.
• Follow all company safety policies, hot-work practices, and PPE requirements.
• Document completed work, materials used, repair details, and any equipment concerns as required.
• Communicate with supervisors, mechanics, operators, and team members to coordinate repairs and minimize
equipment downtime.
Qualifications and Skills
• High school diploma
• 10 years of relevant experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Previous welding, fabrication, or heavy equipment repair experience required.
• Knowledge of welding safety practices, hot-work procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
• Ability to use measuring tools, grinders, torches, cutting equipment, clamps, jigs, and welding machines.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to produce quality work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy materials and equipment as required.
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, squat, climb, reach, and work in awkward positions for extended periods.
• Ability to work around heat, sparks, fumes, noise, dust, grease, oils, and moving equipment.
• May be required to work indoors, outdoors, in a shop, in the field, or on active jobsites.
