Job Purpose
Applicant will work in tyre shop area working with new tyre mountings regular and low profile, specific types of repairing tyres, and proper inspections of tyres. Experience with the dedicated tools of the trade is a must. Greet customers check air pressure in vehicle tyres; Repair or replace worn or damaged tires of customers. Sell the inventory of new tires plus mounting them with the company’s and customer’s satisfaction. Send customer in to cashier for payment.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
• Welcome customer by asking questions in ways of offer assistance.
• Repair if possible flat or problem tyres in accordance with company procedures and policies. Check tires for correct air pressure.
• Expert knowledge and use of equipment for mounting tyre/wheel which includes various jacks to work with different vehicle types.
• Use a commercial tyre balancing machine and other industry specific tools.
• Have full knowledge of tyre sizes including low profiles and their applications. This will include pricing to customer.
• Have full knowledge of batteries for vehicles including how to check (cranking amps needed for application), remove, and replace.
• Speak with Cashier regarding any queries or updates to the day.
• Daily conversations with Chief Executive Officer of Maedac to review tyre inventory and customer inquiries.
• Send customers in to the cashier for any payments of service.
• Maintain courtyard and outside areas around building inclusive of restroom.
• Use of commercial water pump in courtyard as needed when overflow of rain occurs.
• At times assist with customers in forecourt with personal propane tanks.
• Be aware of safety/security issues and report any accidents or incidents immediately to the senior staff member on duty.
• Manage upkeep and condition of equipment, Tyre shop, and Vacuums.
• Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policy-making as required.
• Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company or elsewhere subject to company approval.
Communication Requirements
This position requires the individual to read, understand and communicate the English language. Must be able to communicate with supervisors and pass information on to other staff. This individual must be able to work in a team environment.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to see (depth perception, near acuity and far acuity), hear, and use of fingers
• Ability to stand, push/pull, climb, stoop, bend, and kneel for extended periods
• Medium work involves frequent lifting of up to 15-20lbs and on occasion heavier work lifting of 40lbs may be required
• Drive company vehicles/ Standard drive included
• Ability to work under pressure at times
• Work in a non-air-conditioned environment
