Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Stone Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with natural materials and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and restoring structures made from stone, including walls, fireplaces, arches, patios, and building facades. This role requires a blend of artistic creativity, physical strength, and technical knowledge to produce work that is both structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing.
Key Responsibilities
• Interpretation & Layout: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate the materials required.
• Stone Preparation: Select appropriate stone (granite, marble, limestone, sandstone, slate, etc.) and shape it using hand and power tools, including chisels, hammers, saws, and grinders.
• Construction & Installation:
o Mix mortar or grout and prepare surfaces for installation.
o Lay stone in patterns or random courses, ensuring level, plumb, and straight lines.
o Set stone in place using mortar or applying a veneer to a surface.
o Build structural foundations and footings for stonework.
