Aurora MSP (Cayman) Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Specialist for a critical, hands-on technical and operational role within its managed services and IT consultancy business. The successful candidate will architect, implement, secure and maintain resilient, scalable IT environments for the Employer and its clients, and will serve as the senior technical point of contact for client projects, solution delivery, complex escalations and ongoing maintenance of client and internal systems. The role spans technical delivery, client project leadership, service development and the business administration of a growing managed services practice.
Duties and responsibilities
• Provide senior technical leadership and escalation support, and configure and administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, endpoint management and cybersecurity platforms, including associated security and compliance services.
• Design, implement, secure, maintain and document client and internal infrastructure, including networks, firewalls, wireless systems, servers, cloud services, endpoints and security controls.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve complex incidents; perform root-cause analysis and implement permanent corrective and preventive actions.
• Implement and manage backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions, including periodic recovery testing.
• Conduct infrastructure audits, security reviews and risk assessments; plan and undertake maintenance, upgrades, migrations, patching and remediation.
• Act as technical lead for client projects from discovery and scope definition through design, implementation, testing, change control and handover, including project plans, delivery documentation and coordination of clients, contractors and suppliers.
• Support client onboarding, technical discovery, environment audits, presales, and preparation of quotations, proposals and statements of work.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, technical standards, security baselines and repeatable service procedures; keep diagrams, configuration records, asset registers and licensing records accurate.
• Administer the Employer’s service desk, PSA, documentation, monitoring and business systems; maintain records for clients, vendors, contracts, subscriptions, procurement, time charges and billing support; assist with budgeting and reporting to management and shareholders.
• Support cybersecurity incident response, access and privilege reviews, and compliance activities; mentor junior personnel and contractors.
Minimum requirements
• Minimum 10 years’ progressively responsible professional experience in IT infrastructure, managed services, systems administration, cloud services, networking or cybersecurity; 12 or more years’ preferred.
• University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems or a closely related discipline, plus relevant current professional certifications.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Entra ID, Windows Server and Active Directory.
• Strong practical experience with firewalls, switching, routing, VPNs, wireless networking and TCP/IP.
• Experience with endpoint management, cybersecurity, remote monitoring, professional services automation, service desk and documentation platforms.
• Demonstrable experience independently designing and implementing business technology solutions and managing client projects from discovery through handover, within a managed services or comparable multi-client environment.
• Experience implementing backup, disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Experience producing professional technical reports, procedures and project documentation, and maintaining accurate time, procurement, licensing, asset and billing-support records.
• Valid police clearance certificate and driver’s licence; able to travel independently to client sites, safely lift and install standard IT equipment, and work outside normal business hours when required.

In addition to salary, the successful candidate will receive health insurance under the Employer’s plan; employer and employee pension contributions in accordance with applicable legislation; vacation leave per the Cayman Islands Labour Act; ten paid sick days annually; applicable Cayman Islands public holidays; and out-of-hours compensation or alternative arrangements as agreed in the employment contract. Out-of-hours work may be required for planned maintenance, project implementation, system changes and critical incident response. No company vehicle or mileage allowance is provided.
