Scope of responsibilities for Registered Nurses:
provide general nursing care to patients in accordance with nursing standards
Assess and triage patients and give appropriate and timely care based on patient's acuity. Take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order laboratory tests and x-rays, and make preliminary diagnoses. Consult with other medical providers as appropriate and document discussions and recommendations in EMR charting system.
respond in emergency situations and appropriately render care based on patient's acuity level
Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and physicians' instructions.
Observe, record and report patient’s condition and reaction to drugs and treatment to physicians. Document all treatments in patients' charts
Must be able to start IVs and proficient in blood-taking
Act as an advocate for patients and their families and educate patient and family about diagnostic procedures, medications, nutritional maintenance of health and wellness.
Treat minor injuries, suturing, performing minor surgical procedures and casting.
Documentation of all medical history, physical findings, lab and/or x-ray results, diagnoses, prescribed medications and discharge planning in EMR charting system.
