Job Description: Loeb Smith Attorneys (the “Firm”) urgently requires an experienced Partner to join our growing Corporate Department to advise the Firm’s clients on mergers & acquisitions, corporate group restructurings, private equity transactions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions. This is not an entry level position. The successful candidate will be required to (i) develop his/her own corporate practice within the Firm, (ii) review and comment on transaction documents drafted by onshore legal counsel from a Cayman Islands legal perspective; (iii) advise on structuring of corporate transactions, (iv) draft transaction documents governed by Cayman Islands law, and (v) lead on the transactions to achieve a successful close. The Firm has seen a large increase in mergers and acquisitions activity over the last 3 years involving Cayman companies being taken private from Stock Exchanges such as the New York Stock Exchange via the merger law regime under the Cayman Islands Companies Act and would like to recruit a corporate partner with strong transactional experience of advising in these areas to join it.

Required qualifications, skills and experience: Bachelor of Law Degree. Must have at least 14 years’ Post Qualification Experience working in the Corporate Department of a reputable international offshore firm or a reputable international firm. Must be able to advise clients independently, lead on transactions, actively participate in business development activity and attend and speak at conferences and seminars on behalf of the Firm. Must have strong communication and organizational skills.
