Painter.

KDP Construction & Colours is seeking a skilled, reliable and experienced Professional Painter to join our team. The successful candidate must be able to perform high-quality painting and finishing work in a construction environment while maintaining professional standards, productivity and attention to detail.

Working Hours:

• Sunday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Candidates must also be available to work nights when required, depending on project schedules and deadlines.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting, including washing, scraping, sanding, patching, filling cracks and holes, caulking and priming.
• Remove old or damaged paint and coatings using appropriate hand and power tools.
• Mix and match paints, stains, primers, sealers, and other coatings to achieve the required colour and finish.
• Produce clean, even, professional finishes on walls, ceilings, doors, trim, woodwork, metal, concrete, and other surfaces.
• Perform detailed cutting-in and finishing around edges, corners, fixtures, windows, doors, and architectural features.
• Properly mask, cover, and protect floors, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and surrounding surfaces before work begins.
• Identify surface defects, moisture problems, damaged areas, and other conditions that may affect the quality of the finished work.
• Work safely from ladders, scaffolding, platforms, and other approved access equipment.
• Follow project specifications, colour schedules, drawings, instructions, and quality standards.
• Estimate and manage paint and material usage while minimizing unnecessary waste
• Keep work areas organized and clean and complete proper cleanup at the end of each shift.
• Correct deficiencies and complete touch-ups to ensure finished work meets company and client expectations.
• Follow all company procedures and workplace health and safety requirements.
• Work efficiently as part of a construction team and coordinate with supervisors and other trades to meet project deadlines.

Physical & Job Requirements:

• Applicants must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, bend, kneel, reach, climb, and perform repetitive physical tasks. Candidates must be comfortable working in active construction environments and at varying heights where required.
• Applicants should have professional painting experience, strong attention to detail, good time management, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
