Colours is seeking a hardworking, physically fit, dependable Painter Helper to join our team.

Working Hours: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Working Days: Sunday – Friday

DUTIES & WORKING CONDITIONS

This is a physically demanding and strenuous position. Applicants must be prepared to work long hours performing manual labour in active painting and construction environments.

The Painter Helper will be required to:

• Carry and move heavy paint containers, ladders, tools, equipment and materials throughout the workday.
• Regularly lift, bend, kneel, squat, stretch, climb and stand for extended periods.
• Set up, move and secure ladders and assist painters working at different heights.
• Prepare surfaces by scraping, sanding, washing, cleaning, patching and removing loose paint and debris.
• Mix paint and prepare materials according to instructions.
• Assist with interior and exterior painting, including difficult-to-reach areas.
• Move furniture, equipment and other items before and after painting.
• Protect floors, windows, fixtures and surrounding areas before work begins.
• Perform continuous cleaning of work areas, tools and equipment.
• Load and unload work vehicles and transport materials to and from job sites.
• Work indoors and outdoors, including in hot, humid and dusty conditions.
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and instructions from supervisors.
• Perform other physically demanding duties as required to complete jobs on schedule.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must be physically fit, punctual, reliable and willing to perform strenuous manual work. The successful applicant must be able to follow instructions, work efficiently as part of a team and maintain a strong work ethic throughout a long working day.

This position is not suitable for persons who are unable or unwilling to perform continuous physical labour.
