Medical Doctor – Obstetrician & Gynaecologist.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Obstetrician & Gynaecologist (OB-GYN) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team at our clinic located at Grand Pavilion, West Bay Road, Grand Cayman.
Our clinic provides comprehensive care across Women’s Health, Children’s Health, and Family Medicine. The successful candidate will provide specialist obstetric and gynaecological services within the clinic and will also have the opportunity to admit and manage patients at local hospitals.
The candidate needs to have at least 10 years of experience, with substantial expertise in both fetal medicine and maternal medicine.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centred care across a broad range of obstetric and gynaecological services, including:
 Providing comprehensive consultation, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of women’s health conditions.
 Performing routine and specialist gynaecological examinations, including pelvic and breast examinations and cervical screening/Pap smears.
 Performing and interpreting appropriate diagnostic investigations and developing individualised treatment plans.
 Providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to expectant mothers.
 Managing both routine and high-risk pregnancies, with particular expertise in maternal and fetal medicine.
 Providing appropriate care and management during labour and childbirth, including coordination with hospital-based services.
 Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient medical records.
 Counselling and educating patients regarding reproductive health, pregnancy, disease prevention, screening and treatment options.
 Working collaboratively with other medical specialists, nursing staff, allied health professionals and administrative personnel.
 Participating in hospital admitting and clinical care as required.
 Responding to urgent patient needs outside normal clinic hours, including overnight and emergency obstetric care where required.
 Maintaining current knowledge of evidence-based clinical practices, guidelines, technologies and innovations in obstetrics and gynaecology.
 Upholding the highest standards of professional, ethical and patient-centred care.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must have:

 A recognised medical degree and specialist qualification in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
 10+ years of consultant-level clinical experience in Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
 Demonstrable specialist experience and competence in fetal medicine.
 Demonstrable specialist experience and competence in maternal medicine.
 Experience managing routine and high-risk pregnancies.
 Experience in the management of patients throughout pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.
 Excellent diagnostic, clinical and decision-making skills.
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and counsel patients effectively.
 A collaborative and professional approach to working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
 A valid license to practice with the Medical and Dental Council in the Cayman Islands
The standard working schedule is:
o Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
o Saturday: Morning clinic
o Additional hours may be required to meet urgent patient needs, including overnight and out-of-hours obstetric care.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide a high level of flexibility and availability appropriate to the responsibilities of a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist.
