Mechanical Superintendent.

JOB TITLE: MECHANICAL SUPERINTENDENT

SALARY: CI$100,000 - CI$135,000 pa

WORKING HOURS: 45 HOURS PER WEEK

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 2-year contract

We are seeking a Mechanical Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for daily field management, coordination and supervision of mechanical contractors across active project sites.

DO YOU HAVE:

A relevant trade qualification and at least 5 years of relevant construction experience
Experience working on large-scale commercial projects exceeding US$50M
Strong site-based construction experience, including installation sequencing, identifying field risks, and resolving site issues
Experience coordinating multiple major trade contractors, including workforce planning, issue resolution and interface management
Experience working on high-rise buildings and complex mechanical systems, including HVAC, direct expansion (DX) and refrigeration systems, ventilation, plumbing, drainage, and life safety interfaces
Experience with major mechanical plant and building services, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, AHUs, FCUs, RO systems and geothermal systems
Experience with mechanical installation, plantroom coordination, testing, balancing, equipment installation, startup and commissioning
Experience working as an Owner’s Representative or Construction Manager
Experience coordinating BMS, fire alarm, smoke control, power and controls interfaces, including testing and commissioning

WE WANT YOU TO:

Manage day-to-day construction field operations, ensuring work progresses safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements
Maintain a visible site presence, monitoring contractor performance, workmanship, progress and coordination
Communicate and coordinate with contractors, vendors, consultants, regulatory agencies and project stakeholders
Identify and resolve field interferences, access constraints, installation conflicts and other site issues affecting progress
Review RFIs, submittals, and design information, ensuring approved direction is communicated and correctly implemented in the field
Lead mechanical services coordination, including equipment layouts, plantrooms and services routing
Participate in project schedule development and updates, monitor contractor performance against the schedule, and support mitigation or recovery strategies where required
Implement and enforce project HSE requirements, including inspections, audits, contractor compliance, incident reporting, and correction of unsafe practices
Monitor field QA/QC, address quality concerns, and ensure work complies with construction and contract documents
Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, contractor manpower, and current project information
Support testing, commissioning, and project closeout activities
