The successful applicant will be required to perform a range of carpentry, masonry, and steelwork duties.

Carpentry Responsibilities

The applicant’s carpentry responsibilities will include the installation and finishing of exterior partitions and drywall, as well as the installation of windows, doors, ceilings, roofing, and various wooden structures. Duties will also include erecting sub-roofs, installing fixtures and fittings, and selecting lumber of suitable size, quality, and strength for each project.

The applicant will be expected to work closely with managers, suppliers, contractors, and other construction professionals to ensure the efficient, safe, and smooth operation of the job site. He will also be required to comply with all applicable workplace health and safety requirements.

Masonry and Steelwork Responsibilities

The applicant’s masonry duties will include laying bricks and concrete blocks, plastering drywall, and rendering concrete walls and other surfaces.

Steelwork responsibilities will include constructing and installing steel frames, supports, columns, reinforcements, and other related structures. Duties will include measuring, cutting, preparing, aligning, and positioning steel components; placing steel girders, columns, and supports using cranes and other approved hoisting equipment; fabricating and securing steel frames and girders; and installing steel reinforcement bars for concrete structures.

The applicant may also be required to perform other related construction duties reasonably assigned within the scope of the role, while maintaining appropriate safety standards and ensuring that all work is completed to the required specifications.
