The Legal Operations Lead will improve the design and delivery of legal work across the firm by combining legal knowledge, process analysis and technology implementation. Working directly with practice groups and business services teams, the post holder will map the full lifecycle of a matter, develop and maintain legal workflows, embed effective use of the firm’s legal AI platform and other approved systems, draft technology policies and support client-facing solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mapping the full matter lifecycle — from enquiry, conflicts and KYC through engagement, management, billing and closure — and designing improved processes, checklists and automations to eliminate delays and duplication;
• Gathering requirements from lawyers and support teams; coordinating vendor configuration, user testing, rollout and setting up new operational functions with defined tasks, handovers and escalation routes;

• Acting as the central point for the firm’s legal AI platform questions, troubleshooting and training; maintaining departmental knowledge banks, approved prompts and playbook libraries;
• Drafting and maintaining AI-use, data-management and technology policies; translating approved policies into working procedures, staff guidance and vendor review support;
• Identifying client needs and building tailored workflows; exploring opportunities to extend proven solutions to client and external parties; and
• Providing ad-hoc support to attorneys and relevant teams in connection with firm-wide legal operations mandates.

Requirements:

• A law degree or recognised paralegal qualification is required;
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a legal operations, legal technology or process-improvement role within an offshore or international law firm;
• Knowledge of Cayman Islands and BVI corporate law, including relevant company, partnership, and regulatory frameworks;
• Experience in corporate governance, filings, and compliance procedures in the Cayman Islands and BVI;
• Proven ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work within demanding deadlines, with a strong track record of managing multiple priorities simultaneously with precision and attention to detail;
• Demonstrated experience implementing or administering AI-powered legal tools, including prompt engineering, workflow automation, playbook design and output verification; certifications or formal training in AI or legal technology (e.g., CLOC, Certified Legal Technologist) are highly desirable;
• Proven ability to map and re-engineer legal processes end-to-end, including requirements gathering, functional specification, user acceptance testing and post-launch review; experience drafting internal AI-use and technology governance policies;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal technology systems is essential; hands-on experience with iManage, Aderant, Viewpoint, KYC360 and Microsoft 365 integrations is preferred;
• Strong project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple matters under demanding deadlines, coordinate cross-departmental delivery and deliver training and knowledge-management initiatives; and
• Leadership qualities, conflict-resolution skills, a solutions-oriented mindset, and the ability to build cross-functional relationships are essential.
