LEGAL ASSISTANT.

Requirements
• Hold a CILEx legal secretarial qualification or equivalent certification, with prior experience in the corporate department of a Cayman Islands law firm as a senior legal assistant/secretary.
• Have a minimum of seven (7) years' experience as a legal secretary/assistant in the Corporate, Investment Funds, Intellectual Property, and Conveyancing departments of a Cayman Islands law firm.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
• Have the ability to deliver a high level of service to clients and attorneys.
• Be highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Have excellent typing skills, with a minimum speed of 70 wpm.
• Be proficient in the LEAP Practice Management Accounting System.
• Be self-motivated, able to meet deadlines, prioritize work from various sources, and work overtime as necessary.
• Have experience preparing company and partnership formation and termination documents, and annual and routine filings on the Cayman Islands General Registry's CAPS and CORIS systems.
• Have experience preparing, updating, and filing beneficial ownership registers.
• Have experience preparing and filing economic substance notifications and submissions.
• Have experience preparing and filing regulatory applications for financial services providers via the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority's (CIMA) REEFS portal.
• Have experience conducting compliance checks in accordance with the Proceeds of Crime Law and the Anti-Money Laundering Regulations of the Cayman Islands.
Duties will include:
• Attending to client onboarding and maintaining client files.
• Collating compliance information and conducting compliance checks.
• Attending to the formation of companies and limited partnerships.
• Maintaining statutory registers (registers of members, registers of directors and officers, register of beneficial ownership, and register of mortgages and charges).
• Attending to monthly beneficial ownership filings, and economic substance notifications and submissions.
• Updating registers of mortgages and charges, beneficial ownership registers, and registers of partnership interests.
• Preparing minutes, resolutions, and other standard corporate documents.
• Preparing liquidation documents for the voluntary liquidation of Cayman Islands companies and partnerships.
• Attending to accounting and annual filings with the Registrar of Companies (ROC), CIMA, and the Department of Commerce and Investment.
• Attending to accounting and annual filings with CIMA in respect of investment funds and registered investment managers and advisors.
• Attending to trademark registrations, renewals, and other IP filings, and liaising with CIIPO.
• Attending to investment fund and other regulatory registrations with CIMA.
• Liaising with clients, counsel, and government agencies, and attending to client correspondence.
• Attending to monthly billing and credit control for client matters.
• Managing the client database.
• Managing diaries and organizing business trips.
• Coordinating conference calls and meetings.
