Kitchen Helper / Janitor.

Job Description
The Kitchen Helper / Janitor is responsible for assisting with food preparation activities and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the food truck, kitchen equipment, and surrounding work areas. The role supports compliance with food safety, health, and workplace regulations and ensures efficient daily operations.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist with basic food preparation such as washing, cutting, peeling, and preparing ingredients
• Support kitchen staff during food preparation and service periods
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and commercial kitchen equipment
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas, equipment, and service counters
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors, walls, ceilings, and work surfaces
• Clean stainless steel surfaces, tiles, grout, windows, and storage areas
• Handle and use cleaning chemicals safely in accordance with safety guidelines
• Store and rotate food supplies following hygiene standards
• Remove trash and dispose of waste in compliance with health regulations
• Maintain overall cleanliness of the food truck and surrounding workspace
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Report sanitation, safety, or maintenance issues to management
• Perform other related duties as required for daily operations
Minimum Requirements
• Experience in kitchen assistance, cleaning, or janitorial work is an advantage
• Knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation practices preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Physically able to stand for long periods and perform manual cleaning tasks
• Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
• Training provided where required
