Inventory Control Clerk
Full-Time | Site-Based
Relocation Required to Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
Keep exceptional construction moving - make sure the right materials, tools and equipment are in the right place at the right time.
Tranel Group is seeking a highly organized, hands-on Inventory Control Clerk / Logistics Coordinator to manage the flow, accuracy and accountability of construction materials, tools and equipment across our Grand Cayman projects and logistics yard.
This is a hands-on inventory role. You will receive and inspect deliveries, maintain dependable records, coordinate purchasing and site transfers, and work directly with our construction teams to prevent shortages, lost items and avoidable delays.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
• Meaningful ownership: be the go-to person for inventory accuracy, material readiness and movement between the yard and active job sites.
• Varied, hands-on work: combine field logistics, supplier coordination, inventory systems and practical problem-solving
• Visible impact: help our teams build high-end custom homes and commercial projects without unnecessary downtime or rework.
• Work closely with a small, accountable team where initiative, reliability and attention to detail are recognized.
• Live and work in Grand Cayman, with no Cayman Islands personal income tax; work permit support may be available for eligible candidates.
About Tranel Group
Tranel Group is a General Contractor based in Grand Cayman specializing in high-end residential and commercial construction. We take a hands-on, collaborative approach with a strong focus on craftsmanship, quality, organization, accountability and attention to detail.
Our expectation is straightforward: plan the work, solve problems early, communicate clearly, hold the team accountable and deliver work that everyone involved can be proud of.
The Role
You will support multiple active construction projects by controlling incoming and outgoing materials, tools and equipment; maintaining the logistics yard; and coordinating with Construction Managers, Foremen, suppliers and the project team. You should be comfortable both handling deliveries on site and maintaining accurate, timely digital records.
What You Will Own
• Receive, unload, inspect, label and record incoming materials, supplies and equipment; verify quantities and condition against orders and delivery documents.
• Organize and secure inventory at the logistics yard and job sites, using clear storage locations and handling procedures to prevent loss, damage and waste.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of stock levels, tool assignments, transfers, purchases, returns, disposals and equipment movements across multiple projects.
• Conduct routine physical counts, reconcile discrepancies promptly and report missing, damaged or incorrect items with supporting documentation.
• Coordinate material requests, approved purchases, supplier collections, deliveries and transfers to ensure job sites have what they need when required.
• Track tools and equipment condition, maintenance needs, servicing and repairs; flag unsafe or unserviceable items.
• Work with site leadership to anticipate upcoming material needs, delivery constraints and shortages before they disrupt the work.
• Maintain clear receipts, packing slips, purchase records and stock-movement reports in company systems, including Buildertrend and Google Sheets as applicable.
• Keep the yard, storage areas and vehicles used for logistics clean, organized and safe; follow lifting, loading, transport and site-safety procedures.
• Provide reliable inventory and logistics updates to the Construction Manager and project team, and recommend practical process improvements.
Requirements:
• 5+ years of relevant inventory control, materials coordination, warehouse or construction logistics experience; experience with a general contractor.
• Practical knowledge of construction materials, tools, equipment, receiving, storage and job-site deliveries.
• Demonstrated ability to manage accurate records and physical inventory for multiple locations or projects simultaneously.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets; comfortable learning and using inventory systems and Buildertrend.
• Experience reviewing purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, receipts and delivery discrepancies.
• Strong organization, prioritization, communication and follow-through, with the ability to work independently and coordinate with site teams and suppliers.
• Comfortable working outdoors between logistics yard and active construction sites and safely handling materials within applicable workplace requirements.
• Able to lift heavy construction tools and materials as necessary
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle transportation required.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field, logistics, supply chain, business or construction.
Who Will Thrive in This Role
This role suits someone who notices what is missing before someone must ask. You keep records accurate, communicate early, follow through on commitments and take pride in a well-run yard and well-supplied job site.
• Hands-on, dependable and comfortable balancing physical logistics with detailed administration.
• Methodical and accurate without losing sight of urgent site needs.
• Proactive about shortages, damaged goods, missing paperwork and delivery changes.
• Confident coordinating with suppliers, drivers, Foremen and Construction Managers.
• Committed to safe handling, secure storage and clear accountability for company assets.
