INTERNATIONAL MULTIMODALITY IMAGING TECHNOLOGIST.

The technologist will be required to work in PET CT and tomography imaging for which they will need licensure in the applicable modalities as per the Cayman Islands government and Baptist Health South Florida requirements. Duties include:
• Performs a variety of simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures utilizing cross-sectional anatomy knowledge and following established protocols;
• Interviewing patients and/or assessing patient records to document pertinent clinical information;
• Scheduling and registering patients for PET/CT scans;
• Verifying insurance coverage;
• Performing basic patient care functions and observing patients during procedures informing nurses/physicians of any condition changes;
• Assessing and maintaining equipment functionality and maintaining equipment maintenance/service records; perform necessary calibrations;
• Verifies physician orders prior to procedure;
• Uses accepted infection control techniques and personal protections equipment in order to provide appropriate care;
• Transfers patients to scanning table using accepted body mechanic techniques and patient transfer equipment;
• Scanning clinical documents into PACS system;
• Explaining procedures to patients and their family;
• Developing and maintaining up-to-date policies, procedures and protocols related to PET/CT and CT imaging services and business development strategy creation;
• Maintains patient records, equipment records, FDG records, and equipment maintenance/service records;
• Follows PACS workflows by tracking (QA process) procedure to end status routinely for all assigned cases. Accurately performs exam administration functions on the PACS system for all modalities.
• Fills in for other staff in the center, as requested by Director and as needed.
