Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

J&P Equipment Ltd is accepting applications from suitably qualified Caymanians and persons legally entitled to work in the Cayman Islands through residency or marriage for the position of Heavy Equipment Mechanic.

The successful applicant will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, maintaining and repairing the company’s heavy equipment, machinery and small tools.

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Service and repair tower cranes, mobile cranes, boom trucks/cranes, forklifts, backhoes and other heavy equipment
- Maintain and repair small tools and construction equipment
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and complete repairs efficiently
- Inspect equipment to ensure it is safe and ready for operation
- Identify required parts and maintain accurate service and repair records
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures

Qualifications and Experience:

- A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the heavy-equipment industry
- Applicants must have practical experience servicing and repairing all the types of equipment listed above
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose faults and complete repairs independently
- Relevant trade certificates are advantageous
- Must be reliable, punctual, self-motivated and hardworking
- Must be willing to work variable hours as project requirements dictate
