JOB TITLE: ESTIMATOR
SALARY: CI$70,000 - CI$95,000 pa
WORKING HOURS: 40 HOURS PER WEEK
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 2-year contract
The Estimator will be responsible for assisting in the execution of all designated estimating tasks
DO YOU HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent combination of technical experience and training.
Minimum of 5 years demonstrable cost estimating experience within the construction industry, preferably attained in the Caribbean region
Proficient understanding of measurement and cost planning principles
Proficient understanding of cost controls, material requirements, building blueprints, and construction requirements
Proficient in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD
MRICS or equivalent preferred
WE WANT YOU TO:
Perform cost estimating duties including reviewing project scope of work, specifications, preparing complete and accurate estimates and communicating information to management and clients
Have the ability to complete high level / concept estimates and cost plans
Ability to measure detailed work and prepare detailed BQs in co-ordination with scope and specs
Research labour, materials, and equipment pricing and making cost effective recommendations for assigned projects
Maintain professional relations with clients, vendors, suppliers and external contacts
Comply with all estimating procedures from initial tender documentation to final completion of estimate
Monitor and report on local Cayman and region cost impacts - labour availability, rates, outputs, currency exchanges, import/export taxes and freight costs
